Right now, one of the trends in graphic design is the use of grunge fonts. This is the style of typography that deviates from the clean, glossy and properly aligned and systematic typefaces that we know about. By grunge font it means something which is eroded, mangled, cracked, worn out, wild, furious, distressed or anything along that line. Unlike traditional typography, grunge fonts are purposely designed to appear to be messed up. Thus, they avoid consistency, clean curves, straight lines and edges, etc. These fonts tell a story well beyond the literal meaning of the text.
