If you happen to observe e-commerce websites, you will notice that the layout common among them is more or less grid like in appearance. This is understandable considering that the primary purpose of such websites is to display products with the intent of selling them to the visitors. To stay on top of the competition however, one of the things that an online store should do is to adopt a design that stands out from the rest and this happens only if it goes a little beyond the common concept. It means a little innovation in product presentation and usage of graphic elements at some point. This way, the visitors would be interested to explore the website as opposed to being bored due to the website’s monotony.
To give you an idea how awesome online stores should look, we are rounding up some of the e-commerce websites which are beautiful and distinctly appealing as sales portal should be. See what elements help enhance overall design and the otherwise dull image boxes and consider them as inspirations in your projects. Also, you can grab some predesigned e-commerce templates for WordPress if you don’t want to make a website beginning from scratch. Enjoy!

MarkI completely agree, ‘innovation in product presentation, and use of graphic elements’ is the key to staying on top of the competition! I think ecommerce web design is so important for each individual company, but as it is online some people forget that you’re representing your company through the design on the site, just as you would be inside a physical shop. Sites need to be visually stimulating without being too busy and easy to navigate, (easier said than done), many of the sites on here look like they do just that. Some really creative and inspiring stuff. I love the way the products have been displayed on ‘inkefx’ and ‘bon look’, I like how the designer has played around with the designs from particular products and manipulated them to fit in with the overall ecommerce web design. Thanks so much for sharing! Mark.

SungHowdy! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from
an established blog. Is it difficult to set
up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking
about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
